In 2023, lifelong friends James and Tucker went off to separate colleges—Michigan and USC—to pursue business degrees. They anticipated futures with high-level corporate positions, satisfied parents, and stable incomes.

However, instead of dutifully memorizing their technicals, James and Tucker quickly found themselves locked in friendly competition—spending hours over who could produce the best beat or find the better track.

Following their gut instincts, James and Tucker shifted their focus towards music. Without a clear path into the industry, they brought in Yonatan, a like-minded producer and artist from USC.

The three chose to carve their own way, combining their entrepreneurial skills, musical experience, and passion into Rawe Records. To bring the vision to life, they brought on Max — a close friend and creative force — whose aesthetic direction helped define the visual identity of the Rawe brand.
